  1. I study Agriculture at Uni and i play Farming simulator. It helps A LOT!

  2. Love all these "free access to teachers" games and apps, but why not just make them free to the public? I don't homeschool, but would like to supplement my child's learning. As a child who's at the top of his class, I just know he's being held back.

  3. "The people at G2A…"

I heard "the people at GTA…"

  4. History was really boring for me but then we got renaissance and stuff in the 8th grade which was considered very difficult to understand and plot on a timeline

Assassin's Creed games were the only reason I got through it and they also helped me get a newfound interest in the subject that I still have

Seeing the seige on Bastille first-hand in Unity, knowing about the Italian Renaissance and the different locations whilst experiencing Ezio's story, learning about Victorian-era London during the Industrial Revolution and knowing about the Third Crusades in the original really helped me understand history and it also compelled me to learn about other civilizations and stuff

This newfound link between gaming and history also helped me in WW1 and WW2 and I used Call of Duty and Battlefield for that (it sounds strange but I'm not kidding some storylines and details were really crucial in me getting a better idea of the era and of course the Indiana Jones movies also helped me a lot)

Please don't make fun of this because every single thing that I have stated is 100% real and unfiltered

BTW FYI I live in Mumbai, India

EDIT: See EA? Even us Indians play a lot of Battlefield so stop treating us like a third world country, bump us up to first world as India is a really freaking huge market for gaming in comparison with Japan or the USA even more than the UK, and also make a dedicated server for India (it's really annoying and not latency friendly to connect to some random server in the Middle East or Japan or Singapore

  5. as someone who has been playing video games since they were 4 and is mostly self taught yeah video games have helped me learn quite a bit since teachers and my parents viewed me as a lost cause since I have ASD so when people say video games cause violence I always say to them "Yeah I remember when world war 2 was started over a game of Pac-Man"

  6. How am i subbed to this channel i've never heard of it

  7. My first understandings of physics and math formulas were playing Mario games and wanting to be able to get better in pokémon by learning basic damage strategies.

  8. I learned English thanks to the videogames!
Also I expanded my vocabulary with this videos. 💕

  9. This was great (would be nice of they added subtitles in other languages)

  10. Imagine in a few years, soldier recruits are playing Halo to learn about how to use a rifle and the other weapons

  11. I did learn most of my English skills and knew about relationships from Sims

  12. I am a huge fallout fan and after playing new Vegas it got me thinking which was the best factions. What are the pros and cons of democracy and understanding human nature and how you can help the people for the best in the end I like the alternative universe you find yourself in how your actions can change the course of the game for good or worst

  13. I think it's pretty safe to say that the Roller Coaster Tycoon games learned us all how to NOT treat your customers

  14. I learned about the human body when I was a kid through a game. I used to play other games like sim city and COD but I ended up playing it for multiple hours without control so I deleted everything and have pretty much quit video games. I will say that I learned how NOT to die from Dumb Ways To Die lol.

  15. Dear Sprouts,
My name is Philip and I am a high-school student that is planning to go to the Youth Parliament of Greece the next year(don't know how to pronounce it correctly). So if you could, I believe it would be beneficial for everyone, if you could make a video about how an Education System should or could be to help students. (about following their passion, not only having tests in order to make students learn, help their creativity grow…). I would be very thankful if you answer this comment or at least do a like, In order to know if you read it. Thanks for all the great work until now.

  16. Games like assassin creed is good in exploring times from different civilization/countries

  17. What you are saying is that I should keep wasting my life away on counterstrike?

  18. Who pays for that? That's obviously skewed

  19. Just fantanstic👍👍 well done, keep it up bro🙏🏻🙏🏻

  20. Im a gamer and i learned history and geographie in Eu4 and the Total war titals. (Also i get interrested in history)

  21. Any Zelda game thought me to think beyond with all the puzzles and overcome a difficult enemy or boss, had to think out of the box more than once. Plus the story can touch your emotions

  22. for me, social games as someone with ASD help me a ton to understand the english language in a more fun way with real people talking in english but also with games that are translated in english.

  23. مين جاي من مدارس اربد النموذجيه صف سابع

  24. talking about the advantages of games and how it's good for education while they are made to be addicted i bet a video game sponsored this video lol

  25. I love this channel , great content .

  26. How games affect players depends on different aspects of the game though. You've touched it briefly during the social benefits part, but while pro-social games promote social skills, agressive games do not. Games like call of duty or Halo might improve your spacial skills, but do not improve your social skills, as the goal of the game is to kill the other team in any way possible. Sure, it doesn't make you agressive, but a study found that while pro-social games make the players helpful to others and tend to boost their charitability, agressive games reduce their helpfulness and tend to make the player put themselves above others. Other things to be mindful of are the dangers of video game addiction and the sedentary lifestyle it promotes.

An interesting take on this is the five dimensions of video game effects. This theory takes into account the negative sides of gaming, which this video seems to not mention. If you're interested you can read about it on the blog of dr. Douglas Gentile.

Source: I wrote a thesis about this topic.

  27. League of Legends is great for developing a growth mindset and being functional in stressful situations

  28. I was the only person in my 11th grade AP English and Comp class who knew what a lodestone was ^_^ and it was thanks to a game called pocket tanks deluxe. I also learned about German weaponry from Bloodrayne. Just the first two examples that come to mind.

  29. I learned Russian through playing CS:GO

  30. Video games in education = long term disaster
